FROGHILL'S WINE BAR WITH DEX APPEAL
Lonely hearts looking for love in the fast lane will be zipping along to a Froghill wine bar next Friday for the latest thing in rapid romance.
Called Dexy Dating, it’s a warp-drive way for singles to meet singles.
Dexy Dating is the same as speed dating but with one crucial difference: with Dexy Dating, the speed comes in a wrap.
Said Nathan Small, manager of host venue Plonk-U-Like: “The Dexy Dating scene is already huge in California and we think it could be here.
“For the price of admission, customers are provided with a glass of wine, a line of dexedrine, a packet of chewing gum and a drinking straw.
As the drugs get to work, a person's metabolic rate goes up. And the time needed to talk with members of the opposite sex comes down.
Couples are rotated every 15 seconds and this promises maximum meeting in minimum time.
“Froghill’s first Dexy Dating event could be your express route to a summer of love,” said Mr Small.
"However, due to a side effect known as 'speeder's droop', there'll be little chance for a quick one on the night itself," he added.
